Recommended Wolf Conservation and Management Plan (RYWCMP)

The Government of Yukon and the Yukon Fish and Wildlife Management Board (YFWMB) released the Recommended Yukon Wolf Conservation and Management Plan on August 2, 2011. A public review is now underway, with written submissions due by August 31, 2011.

The recommended plan was developed by a joint Review Committee, which consulted extensively while preparing the document: 14 community meetings, a workshop with Renewable Resources Councils, a workshop with Yukon First Nations, and written submissions.

The recommended plan reflects the input received, current research, lessons learned about the effects of wolf management since 1992, Yukon land claims final agreements, and the current legislative framework for the territory.
