How are Board Members appointed?
The YFWMB has 12 members, appointed by the Minister of Environment (Yukon Government). Of the 12 members, 6 are nominated by the Yukon Government, and 6 are nominated by the Council of Yukon First Nations (CYFN) on behalf of Yukon First Nations. The Chair of the YFWMB is selected by the Board Members.
Members are individuals with a demonstrated commitment to conservation and sustainable use of our fish and wildlife resources. Appointments to the Board are for a five-year term (renewable).
