How are Council members appointed?
The North Yukon RRC is comprised of 6 council members, three members nominated by the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation (VGFN) and three nominated by the Government of Yukon. One alternate is nominated by each of the First Nation and YG. The members and two alternates are appointed by the Minister of Environment, while the Chair is chosen by the council members. Appointments are for 3-year terms (renewable).
